  1. Windows 10 updates continue to be unstable.....

Last month I reported a Windows Update, KB 5003690, that caused my desktop pc to continually re-start with the “Oops” blue-screen. I’ve used this pc for years and never a blue screen re-start before. Since this was an optional update, I uninstalled it and had zero blue-screens for a month. On 7-7, two new WIN updates installed, Cumulative KB 5004945 and smaller KB 5004476. Almost immediately, I got 2 blue-screen restarts in one hour, annoying! I then uninstalled KB 5004945, and haven’t had a blue-screen since. I have paused updates for now, and I read that I’m not the only one experiencing thi

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

Windows 10 Unstable & Continually Crashes

I've now been using Windows 10 for some months on two laptops (one loaded with 10 from the start and the other upgraded from 7) and both are suffering from crashes with freezing of Windows 10 and/or edge. When this happens I often can only get out of it
by keeping the power button pressed to force it to switch off or if I'm lucky I can go to close it down by right clicking on the Start button then choosing Shut Down but invariably something prevents it shutting down and the power button has to be kept pressed
down. This is the worst Windows I've known for crashes since Windows ME and a big retrograde step from the reliable Windows 7.

This is not only affecting my two laptops (not upgraded the desktop from Windows 7 yet due to this) but most of the friends I know who've progressed to Windows 10. The time wasted in continually having to force the laptop to power off and then rebooting
it is becoming a complete joke.

Does anyone have any information on when these unstable glitches in Windows 10 and Edge will be fixed as I'd of thought Microsoft should have done this by now. It was heralded as the best Windows yet but, with these unstable crashes, it so far ranks amongst
    the worst.
