Windows 10: Windows 10 Updates Questions

Asked on a discord but thought I'd ask here as well just in case. My PC is a bit out of date, running on 1909 and has a feature update to 2004. I noticed in my list of updates, I have a update for the version I am running on and the update to Feature 2004. I'm not sure if I should just let the updates go through or should I try to put them in a specific order.


My other question is, I have a Nvidia Display update as well. Can anyone tell me what that is for and if I can stop it if so? I usually let my drivers stay out of date for a bit so if there is any bugs for the games I play, they can be ironed out before hand. I was going to upgrade them a day or two after I got my windows 10 updates finished.

Microsoft to make Windows 10 updates mandatory

Well, at the moment at least, you can choose to defer upgrades. Under Settings > Windows Updates > Advanced options you need to check the box labeled "Defer upgrades". What does that do? Good question. The answer I've found might illuminate it to a degree.

I hear this only applies to Pro and Enterprise editions. But I can't verify that.

 

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Windows 10 Update

Well just noticed a pretty large one pop up coming in at 914MB, seems it makes some pretty serous updates.
