Windows 10: Windows 10 Updates

I have a fairly new laptop (1 Year Old) with windows 10. I anticipated a much better experience than I have with my old windows 7 machine. I was wrong. The new machine has been consistently much slower (especially to bring up an application). Yesterday, I sat down to do some work on my laptop and it started a 4 HOUR UPDATE. I wasn't able to get anything done... But I figured once it was done, I'd be ok. I was wrong again. Tonight, I sit down to start to work and it pops up a new message that says "We have an update for you"... What followed was another hour update but then things were ok or at least I thought they were. About an hour later I closed my laptop. When I reopened it, guess what... another update.


Really Microsoft... Do you really expect that clients will put up with this? I'm a life long (more than 30 years using MS products), however, unless I see major changes in the way Microsoft products interact with their users, next time I'm going with a Mac.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Well just noticed a pretty large one pop up coming in at 914MB, seems it makes some pretty serous updates.
