Windows 10: Windows 10 upgrade and low disc volume issue afterwards

I recently installed the latest Win 10 Update and in the morning it said that there was low space on the laptop. It took me to a utility to recover disk space and the first checkbox was for removing old windows installations. It said something about creating a file like windows.old. I checked to do this and then afterwards removed about 40 GB of video to give plenty of room. I checked windows updates to see if all the updates had been installed and there was one additional one that I did. After it installed, I rebooted and then everything started working very poorly.


There was like a 10 sec delay after clicking before and action was carried out. I tried using the Best Buy Geek Squad i bought at Best Buy remote repair and they spend a couple of hours on it without results. I took it in the Geek Squad and they tried to fix it including what they called an in place windows repair.


While in a program the response seems normal but when you load an app and takes a long time and the CPU goes to 100% even loading Word.


Does anybody have any suggestions?

low volume issues

I have tried what other's did to try to correct the low volume without success. I also note on this site and on other sites success was not forth coming in most cases.

I have a Toshiba Satellite. It appears after upgrading to Windows 10 my audio drivers are Conexant SmartAudio HD. I am not savy with drivers and how to fix issues with them. I did not see anyone else here that mentioned these drivers.

The low volume is a deal breaker for me so unless I can find a fix or a fix to issue is not coming soon then I will go back to Windows 8.1 where volume was not a problem.

Any suggestions or date of a fix?

You can select the volume direct - no need to select disk and partition separately...

  [*]select volume G
  [*]remove
  [*]exit

Low volume after upgrading to Windows 10

I have upgraded my HP DM4 laptop to Windows 10 and to my surprise the Volume is very low even after bringing the sound bar to 100%, I have tried attaching my blue tooth speaker but there is no much difference. Can somebody suggest a solution?
