Windows 10: Windows 10 upgrade from v1803 to v1903 - Failed multiple times after attempting various options

Hi,


I am trying to upgrade my Windows 10 (version 1803) to the latest Windows version 1903 but the installation has been failing multiple times. I have tried all options stated by Microsoft community to run Windows update troubleshooter, install latest drivers, run SFC, DISM, etc. but to no avail.


The latest error which I have received is:


"We have set your PC back to the way it was before you started installing Windows 10.


0x8007042B - 0x4001E

The installation failed in the SECOND_BOOT phase with an error during PRE_OOBE operation."


I have run the latest Setupdiag.exe application and the diagnosis states the below:


"SetupDiag: processing rule: FindMigGatherUnitFailure.

Please help since I do not wish to lose my apps/data without requiring a fresh install.

Windows 10 Updates fails to install even after multiple attempts.

Checking for updates after following the steps, Will inform on the progress of the update process and whether this solves it or nope. Thank you for the suggestion.

The Trick didn't work.





The Security Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3074681) which was available, failed to install. And the same story again..

 

Multiple attempts to upgrade to Win10 have failed

Win 7 64 installed on Thinkpad T520. Product key not same as coa key. Multiple attempts at W10 upgrade failed. Now any attempt fails immediately.

I think problem is that somehow I have activated the same Win 7 product key on two different computers. A T540 is already upgraded toWin10 with the identical key.

I tried to change the key in the activation section but the option was not there.

I have installation disks for W7, W8, and all of the legacy versions... But I am at a loss as to what to try next, so I would appreciate your suggestions.

 

Upgrading to Windows 10 v1903 from v1809

Hi all,

I got my new Acer Nitro 5 AN515-42 laptop which i got Windows 10 v1803 pre-installed. Out of curiosity i updated my windows forcefully to v1903 and lost my WiFi connectivity. I tried rolling back drivers and all the troubleshooting steps from various sites
and it didn't help me.

On checking known issues for Windows 10 v1903 there is a issue with previous generation Qualcomm WiFi network cards. (Link: Windows 10, version 1903 and Windows Server, version 1903 - Windows Release Information )

I reinstalled my Windows 10 and downgraded to v1809 and everything works fine. From today
(29th May 2019) i started getting a notification in my windows update page that my PC is ready to upgrade to v1903.





Should i go ahead and take the risk of updating or should i wait for more days before i get this updated?.
