Windows 10 Upgrade Reports Wrong Hardware

I haved moved my Windows 7 64bit install from a Dell Precision 380 (Pentium D and Nvidia 6600 LE) to a Dell Precision T3400 (Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 2.66Ghz and Nvidia GT 610.

Windows 7 is updated for the new hardware with all drivers installed and all devices working.

The Windows 10 Upgrade Program says the CPU is not supported and the 6600 LE video card is not compatible. It is reporting the wrong hardware from the old pc, not the hardware it is currently installed on. How do I get the upgrade program to recheck the currently installed hardware?

I have seen numerous reports of people running Windows 10 on a Q6700 processor. If I need to add a new video card, I can do that.

    Thanks for any assistance!

    :)

Consequence after Upgrading to Windows 10

    Q. Will upgrading to Windows 10 erase my files, settings, and apps?

    A. When you upgrade to Windows 10, your files, settings, and any compatible apps will all make the move to the new system. I can tell you right now that Thunderbird will be compatible with Windows 10. If you would like to check the compatibility
of your apps and hardware, follow the steps below to run the built-in compatibility assessor:

    1. Right-click the Windows logo in the bottom right of your screen, and select Check your upgrade status

    2. In the new window that opens, click the hamburger menu in the top left, and then click Check my PC.

    3. Windows will provide a compatibility report for Windows 10:

The report will provide compatibility details for your hardware as well as your software. If Windows doesn't have a compatibility report for a certain piece of hardware or software, you can try contacting the manufacturer or developer for their plans to
    support Windows 10.

    Backup your PC

Finally, as with all major upgrades to your PC, it would be wise to backup your PC before starting the upgrade process. Although unlikely, if anything should go wrong, you won't have lost data.
