Windows 10: Windows 10 upgrade/XPS Document writer/ plotspooler errors problemsand insanity

I have worked on this for two weeks. I cannot print or add a new printer as it says drivers are missing. I try to download drivers then get messages the plot spooler is stopped. I have tried every concievable "FIX" , to no avail. Help.

XPS writer windows 10 upgrade

Once again I find myself unable to install xps writer following a windows upgrade. I need this for quickbooks software .

Attempting to turn off and then turn back on the windows feature for xps document writer produces an error 0x800F0922

Following the link to "how to solve this problem" produces the following advice

To fix this issue, follow these steps:

1. Open the .NET Framework installation files folder.
2. Open Sources folder
3. Right-click the SXS folder, and then click Properties.
4. Click Security and make sure that there is a check mark next to Read & Execute. If the check mark isnt there, click the
   Edit button and turn it on.

Microsoft XPS Document Writer Download for Windows 10

I got all through this until: Look for "Microsoft XPS Document Writer v4" or of similar fare, XPS Class Driver

Microsoft XPS Document Writer is not in the list! Dead in the water..
