Windows 10, " USB device might need more power." Power surge, or did it stop a surge?

I received the message, " USB device might need more power," when I was plugging a wireless charger into a USB-c port. Did I experience a power surge, or did Windows 10 detect the wattage my wireless charger was requesting and stopped a potential surge?Would the wireless charger still work, but at a lower wattage?

    :)

Disabling a USB port will never do that. You can disable a USB port anytime you want without harm. It is a normal thing to be able to do.

A power surge warning is indicating that you have something plugged into USB that is requesting too much power and should be unplugged. It should be plugged in a way that provides more power than the port can give it.

If you run the game from the device that's having a power surge like a portable hard drive then it would probably affect gaming performance.

    Power surge on USB port

Power surge on USB port keeps flashing, Unknown usb device using more power than port can supply. Tried reboot, nothing has been plugged in but AC cord. Once unplugged this happens.
