Windows 10: Windows 10, USB Ports all unresponsive

Hi Everyone,

I bought a second Laptop some time ago now, as my Toshiba Laptop was starting to make strange noises ?

But it's still working, so I thought I could donate one of them for a School Child for Home Learning ?

However, the newer one, A Toshiba Satellite Pro C660-2JT, works fine, with all the Back Ups from Microsoft, Google etc, But none of the USB Ports recognise any USB Plug Ins.

I have followed all the indtructions I can find. All Windows Updates are Installed, and I have disabled Quick Start Up, and the settings on each USB Hub for Power Management.

Update Driver on each USB Hub, only gives me the option to search on my Computer, and not on the Internet, so I wonder if that is an issue ?

Annoyingly, Microsoft advertise a USB Troubleshooter for Windows 10 ? But the Link says 'Invalid' !

Please.........

Unresponsive back USB ports

You've done practically everything you can. From what it looks you listed you even tried completely different operating system installs to no avail. How about the Windows Installation's reaction to USB kb/mouse? What about booting an Ubuntu Live CD? I'd like to rule out busted USB ports.

 

USB Port Oddities


Ok, let's see it with pictures step-by-step. First right-click on the USB device and select Update driver software:





Then select Browse my computer for driver software (LAST option) :





The select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer (LAST option) :





Then select the standard driver from the list and click next:





Click next/OK as required to complete installation. Repeat the steps for all Intel USB devices. Finally click on each USB root device and press DEL to delete it, reply YES when asked. After deleting all USB root devices restart the computer.

• If so, was it detected?
• Did you receive any error messages?
