Windows 10: Windows 10 user files will not load

Hello,

My Windows 10 profile is the admin account for our computer. When I log in, the desk-top looks as it did when I first bought the computer (Initial OS was Windows 10).

If I go to folders such as documents and photos, none of my files are available; almost as if the computer was reset.

However, if I go to the C drive, under users and find my user folder for this particular account, all of those subfolders contain the appropriate missing folders and files.

Does anyone know why my user files are not loading when I log in?

Nothing about my login has changed, no major changes to the computer, but it likely underwent an auto update before this problem started.

Does anyone know how to fix this issue; to get the user files to load properly when I log into the user account?

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

User Profile Service Service failed! User profile cannot be loaded.

Brink:
I am using registry editor from command prompt. Drilled down to c:windows\system32\config inside the Load Hive dialog window. Have selected (checked box) the SAM file; clicking on Open opens error message that says:


SAM
This file is in use.
Enter a new name or close the file that's open in another program.

I am at a loss, since I am not running any other program!

Any suggestions?

The SAM file is listed as being 64KB file size.

 

windows 10 deleted my desktop files

Step 1 - I upgraded to Win 10 and lost all my files on Desktop.

Step 2 - Found the files in Network - USers- Desktop

copied all files again to desktop.

Step 3- Restarted my machine again and lost desktop files again.

Step 4 - As suggested did the following as listed below but dont find my files.

• Press “Windows + E”, open This PC/Computer
• Open Local Disc C, open Windows.old
• Click on Users, select your User name
• Go to desktop folder

Cant find my files. Why is Win 10 deleted files again and again from Desktop ?.
