    Windows 10 uses more data than displayed


    So far I have only connected my laptop to my phone's hotspot. My phone can monitor the amount of data my laptop is using whenever it is using it's laptop. What concerns me is that, the data used by the laptop displayed on my phone is 800 MB, but Data App Usage is claiming to have only used 73 MB. Could this mean my laptop is infected by malware or virus? How could I solve this problem?

    Windows 10 uses more RAM than Windows 7

    I have 4 gigs of ram ok. my ram usage is up to 94% without running any thing. I have windows 10 pro 64 bit build (10240) I need a solution every game I run it loads very slowly not like when I was on win 7.my ram usage was 30%.

    When you say uses more, are you saying its using so much you can't complete other operations? RAM is not intended to be idle and be on standby. The operating system should all of it if it is available and as the executive software appropriately reallocate
    it if you request another application.

    Is it adversely affecting performance?

    The information shown in Windows is Download and upload combined. If your phone is either Android or a iPhone, there are apps to show your data in real time. As for apps to show you Upload and Download, there is Bandwidth Monitor to show upload and download. Download Bandwidth Monitor Pro - MajorGeeks

    I doubt that your laptop is infected. Most likely a background task like Live Tiles if you have in your menu and not using something like Start 10 to give you the traditional menu.
