Windows 10: Windows 10 v1803 freezes while copying files

I am currently running Windows 10 v1803 Os Build 17134.228, although this problem has been occurring prior to this build of v1803.


I am trying to restore my files after reinstalling Windows 10 from scratch.


When I copy/restore my files either by using Windows Explorer (copy/paste) or by restoring from my backups (using NovaBackup v 19.1), both programs copy a variable number of GigaBytes of files and then the whole of Windows freezes requiring a reboot. This has happened several times after restarting the copy/restore operation after rebooting.


The problem seems to be limited to the write operation as when I run a Norton Antivirus scan ( more than 1 500 000 items), all works OK.


Could someone please help.

Java.nio.file - Copying files

You can't copy a folder, thats why it generates an exception (you are trying to copy a folder using a copy file function).
You probably need to list all the files inside that folder and copy one by one

 

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
