Windows 10: Windows 10 V1903 Update failed with error code 0x80070005

Another feature update, another failure. After a few hours I'm told the update has failed with 0x80070005 and invited to retry, and of course this fails as well. But this update is significantly different. Before updating I went into Settings>Update and Security where I was told that 1903 was available and to install it I needed to click on 'Download and Install Now'. I've never been given the option before, feature updates until now have been forced upon me. Of course it failed so I'm back to 1809 but with 24Gbyte less space on my C disk. Now Update and Security tells me that the update failed, but I can try again. Now I was quite happy with 1809 and although I've seen that there seem to be many experts suggesting ways to overcome the problem I consider life's too short for all of this worry and turmoil. Perhaps this failure to update is Microsoft's way of telling me my PC isn't up to running 1903? So here's a question; can I just leave things as they are and continue to use 1809 ad infinitum by avoiding 'Download and Install Now'? I realise I am able to do a clean install using a USB stick, but what's the point, 1809 suits me.

Trying to download windows 10 to a media device (USB) for installation on another PC and keep getting this error. Am wondering if I should be following the steps suggested for error code: 0x80070005-0xA0019 ?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
