Windows 10: Windows 10 v2004 update breaks Logitech BRIO Windows Hello & Windows 1st party app...

Computer details

• Dell XPS 8500 (Detailed PC specs and config) - all drivers, BIOS, firmware, and client software up to date
• PC was offered v2004 via Windows Update - I did not manually seek the update myself or install it offline

Problem


Logitech BRIO 4K Webcam can no longer be opened by the camera app or by Windows Hello, and so I can no longer use face login on the PC.

Below is the error message I get in the Camera app:

When I try to login via Windows Hello camera functionality, I get "Couldn't turn on the camera."

Interestingly, 3rd party apps such as Logitech Camera Options and Logitech Capture can still use the camera just fine; the native Windows functionality appears to be broken though.

# What I've tried but hasn't worked so far:

• Resetting the Camera app
• Running the Windows Store Apps troubleshooter
• Rebooting
• Disconnecting and reconnecting the webcam

Any ideas?

Logitech BRIO not working with Hello after upgrade

Just upgraded to Creators Update (1703) and there were no errors during the install but now my Logitech BRIO camera is not working with Windows Hello.

I can see the camera listed in device manager with no errors and it works in Skype but at the logon screen it says that no camera is available. I tried turning Hello off and on again but that didn't help.Also tried different USB ports but that didn't help either.

There is a Logitech KB about this but it didn't fix my issue:

Has anyone else had this problem and been able to fix it?

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
