Windows 10: Windows 10 ver 1809 blue screens during installation at 66%

The latest version, 1809, was pushed to my home machine. I let it install (well, it's not like I could stop it) and then rebooted. It continued updating until it got to 66% and then stayed there for nearly an hour. Finally, blue screen, told me it was collecting data and would restart for me. It did and now the PC is in an endless loop of booting up just past the white spinning dots and then restarting. I put in my recovery disk to see if I could go back to the version I already had and it said it "ran into a problem and won't be able to take you back to the previous version of Windows". That happened within 2 seconds of me opting to do that making think there probably wasn't anything there. So, I'm just wondering what are my options now? Do I use the recovery disk to reset the PC?


I would have thought that before it started the update it would have saved off my old version in the event something went wrong so that falling back would be a no-brainer. Thanks Microsoft for forcing an update down my throat that I didn't ask for and now causing me endless work trying to get back to where I was. If you're going to force me to update DON'T SCREW IT UP!

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
