  3. Can you get the windows 8 Internet Explorer on windows 10?

    Hi,

    Nice to meet you!

Microsoft has prepared a brand new browser called "Microsoft Edge" for Windows 10. (Click

    here
to learn more about "Microsoft Edge") "Microsoft Edge" is a modern browser designed to replace Internet Explorer in the future. I fully understand your preference on the previous touch-version of IE. Microsoft has gone further to offer users with a
even better web-browsing experience on "Microsoft Edge". "Microsoft Edge" is still not perfect as it was launched few months ago but it will become the new main-stream browser on the market.

I suggest you tell your concerns to Microsoft Edge team to let them know what features you are expecting to see in this new browser based on your preference on the touch-version of IE. I believe developers will take your suggestions into considerations as
Microsoft is actively collecting users' feedback to improve the product and service. You can click

    here
to see how to let Microsoft learn about your concerns.

Lastly, if you really like the touch-version of IE, you can make use of virtual machine to install dual system on your PC. Thus, you can keep your new Windows 10 with all attractive features and in the meanwhile access your touch-version of IE on Windows
8 running on the virtual machine. You can click
    here
to see how to create a virtual machine on Windows 10. You may also try any third-party software such as "VirtualBox" from Oracle to help you run a virtual machine on your PC for free.

    Thank You!

Windows 10 virtual machines now available on Microsoft Edge Dev

    Hi there

Great stuff -- I'll see if I can convert one to VMWARE format. I used QEMU years ago -- thought it had "Died the death" -- when VMPLAYER couldn't CREATE VM's but only PLAY them QEMU was a great free tool in being able to create new VM's for VMPLAYER to work with.

Edit -- VMWARE format IS available in the download. !!!!

Anyway I'll post results of messing around with this piece of software if I can get it to work.

And -- Ms have images as well as for Windows - but MAC and LINUX TOO !!!! So Ms does believe that there is life outside Windows.

  5. Naturally! But they simply will not admit that openly! *Roflmao2 The only thing I would have to boot live from a data recovery stick in order try any of these out on the present distro in use for those. Paragon has something else for Windows that come in handy when playing with the "Outside of Windows" domain you might be interested in. http://www.paragon-software.com/home.../download.html

That's good for mounting the ext2 ,ext3, and ext4 flavors while I installed the distro on ext5! Couldn't have better security for that! As for VM Player have the latest right before the rename VM Player Pro become Workstation Player still being a trial version the 7.1.2 that had been up until mid August is still found at vmware player 7.1 free download

Since I have that on presently I can immediately give any of them a good lookover. One thing to note here however is that if you have enabled Hyper-V in the Control Panel>Programs & Features optional turn on and turn off section you will need to go back in and turn Hyper-V off if planning to use VM Player. Neither VM Player 7.1.2 or the Workstation Player 12 now seen at the VM ware sight will install on 10 if Hyper-V is enabled. *Confused*What*DohFound that out here fast enough when going to put 7.1.2 back on when removing the Workstation Player 12 trial ware. That's seen in both Windows and the other guy's OS form at free

  7. Still haven't had a chance here as of yet. I did need to update the download information a bit however since the previous post for he en sonic page until discovering what had been changed on the VM ware site as far as getting the free version and not simply the latest trial version of the Player. Some seem to be confused at which is what by how the download pages saw new layouts. For the latest free to try Workstation Player 12 previously named Player Pro free to try at home or commercial license they have that set as the default option at https://my.vmware.com/web/vmware/fre...duct_downloads

For the latest non commercial 7.1.2 free Player version you have to click on the two dropdown options list to select the Major 7.0 and Minor 7.1.2(latest) options to end up immediate on another identical page. https://my.vmware.com/web/vmware/fre...duct_downloads

Now for anyone still working with the 32bit Windows you would want the Major 6.0 Minor 6.0.7(latest) seen at: https://my.vmware.com/web/vmware/fre...duct_downloads

The older 5.0.1 and 5.0.2 versions are now long gone and will not even install on 10. Those came out a few years back for 8. I downloaded the 7 with IE 10 and now downloading the 8.1 with IE 11 option there with the VM Player option. Will be taking a look at 8.1 before finally adding in a new 7 VM. Just like the XP Mode these are only good for 90days and they recommend you make a snapshot image of the VM if you have the option for that.

  9. And in order to use anything from that point on you will need to raise the screen res which then pushes all that off to the sides! When clicking on the MS store app if not IE which won't connect through the set up apparently when seeing 8.1 Entrerprise with IE 11 selected you will see the error message "Your scree resolution is too low to run this app" meaning all the wording there with the codes is pushed out of view by MS intent!

The download itself includes the data file needed to use the Open machine option when at the home screen in VM Player which then sets up the VM in a couple of minutes. You still have to into the hardware settings to tweak things there as you would with any project of your own. The "slmgr /ato" activates the 90 trial persiod once you are connected online from the VM itself you select which is one the typical problems I have seen besides the XP Mode so far only solved by running things on Hyper-V where you first create the new "NetWorkAdapter".

Hopefully these will work ok once I re-enable that again since it had to be disabled in order to run any VM ware option! I think it was with Virual Box I could open up four VMs at the same time or three with the XP Mode running all at the same time until I ran out of resources back before building the present main case with 16gb of memory in!

I had 4gb in the old Vista case used for testing the 7 beta and RC builds and then went up to 8gb on the next build for 7 when the old case died back in 2010. First getting the present build together the issue of the wrong brand of 8gb came up seeing 8gb of the present brand and then adding two more 4gb dimms in afterwards ruled out ever running into the "out of resources" problem! *Biggrin

  11. You don't have to go to softronic's freeware site to get the non commercial 7.1.2 player but simply have to learn how VM ware changed the layout at their site. Workstation Player 12 will the first thing you see being the latest but the commercial version they are promoting at the moment and need to bring down both the "Major Version" and "Minor Version" dropdown options lists to select either the 64bit only 7.0, 7.1.2(latest) or the 32/64bit combination 6.0, 6.0.7(latest).

When arriving at the Alll Downloads page seen at downloads you will need to scroll all the way down until you find the next to last item listing under "Desktop and End-User Computing" to select the "Download Product" link for VMware Workstation Player not Workstation Pro.

Then once you arrive at the 12 page you simply bring down the Major Version list first to make that selection and then over to the Minor Version for the latest of either. The 6.0 32bit/64bit actually came out on July 2nd after the 7.1.2 64bit did on June 15th. free

Sounds like something didn't come out right with the OS install on the VM if not from a separate display problem you might be having. What kind of problem are you running into with the cursor? Is it sticking in one place or fluttering at all? being hard to move around?

If you are trying to run a new VM right away just after putting the Workstation 12 Player on and haven't restarted the system that might be an idea to clear the problem up. Sometimes an installation won't be completely finished until after the restart or something else running in the background needs to be stopped where a restart will see VM ware started fresh as well as the VM without a stale driver hanging on you.

As Kari has posted elsewhere, (Windows 10 - Test Try with No Risk, No Install) these VHDx images will natively run on your PC

    - download, unzip, mount the VHDx and note the drive letter it has mounted to, open an admin command prompt and run BCDBoot L:\windows where L is the drive letter.

    It's as simple as that.

Currently Build 14393.rs1_release.160805-1735 Windows 10 Enterprise Evaluation

Then reboot and select your new installation, and allow it to get your devices ready, (I d/ld & ran available Windows updates too) and it then within a few minutes, allows you to evaluate the VDHx version.

However there is some odd behavior - The download I did earlier today fired up OK and then after an update, it activated, but instead of 90 days evaluation, gave only 55days - and about 7 hours later, only 54 days are left! Microsoft has also automatically set the system to not require a Password (Passw0rd!) at startup for the default user (IEUser), but has thoughtlessly not changed the policy settings to not require a password after waking from sleep - so if you are not used to using the password, you get locked out.

Still they are very useful for effortless testing of VHDs on Bare Metal, without the time taken to setup a system from scratch, on a test machine that may be hard to install, or just hasn't quite the specifications for setup to run upon.

This sort of delivery may be ideal for Insiders instead of the full upgrade - I'm definitely thinking of applying the system image from an Install.esd or wim to a vhd, and booting from it for the next build, rather than running setup again..
