Windows 10 VS AMD Card - blackscreen issues

hi guys, I’m new to the community.

I have been struggling with windows blackscreens after booting for 4 days now and I’m really starting to lose my mind.

So, I was casually playing some Age of empires II (nothing too wild) when a disastrous grey screen happened and broke my whole system. I don’t know what happened, but after 2 hours Of staring on that gsod I cut the power and rebooted. Just for booting right into a bluescreen after the windows logo. Every single time. Even safe mode wouldn’t work.

So, I decided to stomp the whole system and deleted my whole SSD and went for a fresh windows installation. Everything went fine, booting went smoothly, until - approximately 5 minutes after completion - my monitor went dark. It was still working tho, (no „no input detected“ shenanigans) and it kept being powered for hours.

Ever since I’d get those blackscreens right after the boot initiation (after the windows logo and the circling dots) and could only access my desktop in safe mode or after I manually uninstalled the graphic driver for my AMD video card (Saphire HD 7870 btw). So with onboard graphics the systems works just fine.

Whenever I uninstall the drivers with DDU and go for the manual installation of the AMD Adrenaline driver, my monitor goes black always exactly at 71% mark (which is the moment when these flickers occur).

After trying so many times and re-installing windows for the 5th Or so time, my question is: could it be that my video card is just dead? And everytime the driver tries to power it up, it’s just giving out no signal because it’s literally dead? I also read that the 2004 update was prone to causing black screens. is it an issues between windows and the driver?

    Any answer is appreciated.

    Here are my specs Btw:

Windows Version: 2004/19041.450 SAPHIRE AMD HD 7870 Intel i7-2600 (340ghz) 1 SSD (SanDisk 120gb) with Windows OS 1 HHD (WDC 5000AAKX, irrelevant, just a for data)
