Windows 10: Windows 10 wants a password after update. Won’t accept my Microsoft password.

After a recent update, windows started asking me for a password. I have never had a password on this machine and don’t know why it would be asking for it. I tried entering the password I use on my Microsoft email account. It told me that my password or username was incorrect. I tried various configurations and still it would not allow me past the login screen. I changed my Microsoft password, wondering if that would enable me to log on, and that didn’t help. I have tried entering a boot screen without success. I don’t know why Microsoft would take it upon itself to lock someone out of their co

After Windows 10 update, signin screen won`t accept my pssword.

Sign-in screen won`t take my password after Windows 10 update on a new HP laptop. I had setup a pin login but now asks for Microsoft password which I wrote down and have used before but will not accept now.
