Windows 10: Windows 10 Weather app widget refuses to store manual location

Windows 10 Pro, 21H2, build 19044.1826.The Weather App Widget on the taskbar refuses to set the location I specify. It also refuses to turn off Always detect my location.I have tried numerous times to search for and set my location, but as soon as I complete the entry, the setting reverts to the incorrect location Windows has determined, and autodetect is turned back on. Of course, this being ipgeolocation it is inaccurate - I confirmed the likelihood of this by using an IP checker, which reported my location as being in the same area as the one Windows thinks I'm in/interested in.Image 1:

windows 11 weather widget inside widget panel (Win+W kbd shortcut) doesn't save location

Solution:

• type "weather" at start menu and it will find you "Weather" app with orange sun and cloud icon.
  
• Launch weather app
  
• Set location inside settings
  
• press windows key + w shortcut to open widgets panel
  
• Set location and it will save new location
  

 

Weather location in taskbar does not match weather widget

That did not fix the problem. And yes, I have rebooted.





It is incorrect to say that the problem is that the Weather app (seen on the right in the screenshot) is showing the wrong location.

The problem is that the weather widget that is embedded in the taskbar is incorrect.

As you see, I have three different weather reports. One is in the Weather widget in widgets view (opened via Windows + W). One is in the Weather App (which shows "Parkwood Maintenance, TX" instead of San Antonio, for some unclear reason). And in the lower left, you can see the weather report in the taskbar.

Apparently the weather widget in the taskbar much be controlled separately from the weather widget in the widget view and from the Weather app. But I don't know how to access the settings for the Weather widget in the taskbar. How do I fix it, so the taskbar shows the weather for the correct location?

I have no problems with the weather app... on my pc, tablets, laptops, or windows phones.
Must be regional/local problems.

Or, your store/app data files may be corrupt.
Might want to try the apps troubleshooter.
