Windows 10: Windows 10: What is the correct place of the Downloads folder

Hi guys,

I noticed that I have 2 Downloads folders:

1.)

C:\Users\userName\Downloads

and

2.)

C:\Users\userName\Documents\Downloads


Note:I have many files in both of them.


I guess it's wrong and it shouldn't be like that. I have no idea how and when this happened, but i would like to have the

directory/folder structure as per the original W10 installation. (and to delete the 'wrong' one)

In other words, I want to move files from folder 1.) into folder 2.) , or vice versa, and have only one and correctly placed the Downloads folder.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

video downloads required to be placed in "Videos" folder

Thanks for responding. However, the settings you suggested were already in place. But I did stumble across the solution.

The particular folder to which I was trying to save the download video to in its Properties under the Security tab was set to require restrictions. I then went to the "edit" button and added check marks to allow all the listed items and that corrected the
problem.

 

Windows 10 forced download

To stop the download, uninstall the KB3035583 update (under "Control Panel > Windows Update > Installed Updates").


To get rid of the C:\$Windows.~BT folder:

• Right-click on your C: drive.
• Select "Properties".
• Click on [ Disk Cleanup ]
• After the initial scan: If you have a [ Clean up system files ] button, click it and wait for the second scan to finish.
• Scroll down the list and look for "Temporary Windows installation files" (its size should be in the gigabytes range); check the box.
• Click on [ OK ] to start the clean-up.
