Windows 10: Windows 10 When i play games with fullscreen it just turns black.

I have no idea when this started but i one day i started fortnite and it was a black screen with a functional cursor. I eventually found out that it's okay to play with windowed fullscreen but obviously that takes up performance and it's really bugging me. In any game if i try to change my viewing mode to fullscreen there's only a black screen and a cursor but it's completely fine when i play with windowed fullscreen. I have another problem that's probably related but i'm nut sure. Nearly every 5 minutes ,maybe even less, something steals focus from anything i'm doing. while i'm gaming, typing, watching something. Would be really happy if anyone can come up with a solution because at this point it's not just gaming it prevents me from doing daily things as well.

Do let us know the following to assist you better with this issue:

• From where are you trying to play the video games (downloaded/ from website)?
• If you are playing games from website which browser are you using?
• Were you able to see any error code/ error message when the game crashes?
• Are you able log-in to your computer?

This issue might have occurred due to corrupted/ outdated display drivers.

As you see black screen while logging to the desktop, I suggest you to refer to the below Microsoft article about this issue, try the troubleshooting steps and check if it helps.

Also, I suggest you to install all the pending updates on your device.

Steps:

• Connect to the internet.
• Press Windows key and type
  updates.
• Click on Check for updates.
• Under Windows Updates, click on
  Check for updates.
• Try to install the updates being shown.

games crash in fullscreen

everytime I try to load a fullscreen game on windows 10 it turns to black and crashes resulting in me having to reset the computer

it only started happening after the update does anyone know how to fix this

 

PC games not in fullscreen in Windows 10

Hope this helps someone else. I was also having the problem with not being able to play games in fullscreen in Windows 10. This what I did:

If you have not updated your Display Adapters go to Device Manager first - look for Display adapter and click on the drop down box and it should show you what to do next.

Open display settings

Change the size of text - apps - other items to 125%

Click Advanced Display Settings - change to 1440 x 900

Very important. On all your games that have a fullscreen option make sure that this option is TURNED OFF .

Turn this option on, ONLY when you are actually playing the game. Somehow the fullscreen option will not work when another game is using it and it doesn't even matter if the first game is closed.
