Windows 10: Windows 10 Wifi Adapter Missing from Device Manager because of KB4524570

I am using a Dell Inspiron 7577 Laptop.


In Nov 2019, the update KB4524570 2019-11 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 1903 was automatically installed on my Windows 10 Home 1903. After it was installed, my Intel AC 8260 Wifi+Bluetooth Adapter went missing from Device Manager. If I cold boot my laptop several times, the wifi adapter would appear back in Device Manager 1 in 5 times. I've tried reseating the wifi adapter but it does not change anything. I've installed the latest drivers from Oct 2019 for the wifi adapter.


At first, I thought my Wifi Adapter was defective so I purchased an Intel AC 9260 wifi adapter. The first time Windows 10 detects the new wifi adapter, it would work fine. But if I cold boot my laptop, it would go missing in Device Manager.


So I did a fresh install of Windows 10 Home 1903 and then installed the Wifi Drivers, everything worked fine until I installed KB4524570. Once KB4524570 was installed, the wifi adapter would go missing from Device Manager after a cold boot.


After that, I did a fresh install of Windows 10 Home 1909, the wifi adapter worked fine until I installed KB4524570.


After that, I installed Ubuntu 19.10, the wifi adapter works every single time without any issues.

If I use a USB Wifi dongle with Windows 10, it works without any problems but it takes up a USB port that I need.


I'm pretty sure there is something inside KB4524570 that is causing the wifi adapter to go missing from Device Manager. I know that the wifi adapter is hidden in Device Manager but that just means that the driver is installed. Windows 10 can't detect the physical wifi adapter.

How do I report this issue to Microsoft to get fixed? I need my internal Wifi adapter to be working with my laptop.

Yesterday all of a sudden, My wifi got disconnected. It seems the wifi adapter is missing altogether from the device manager. I tried

1. restarting the laptop
   
2. re-installing the wifi drivers
   
3. Check hidden devices in device manager
   
4. Check windows 10 setting and tried resetting the network
   
5. Tried driver update with Driver Easy and DriverPack
   
6. Tried running netsh commands
   

None of the above worked. Also after successfully installing the driver and restarting the laptop. The freshly installed adapter is also not showing in the device manager.

I have gone through many posts and vlogs regarding this issue but none of them solved my problem. Please help me fix this. Any help is appreciated.

Wifi adapter disappears - goes 'hidden'


Running Windows 10 on an Acer laptop. Over the past month, the wifi connection dropped without explanation/warning.

First time, the adapter was visible in Device Manager (with a yellow triangle next to it). An interent search found the suggestion to uninstall it and restart. That worked.

Today, the connection dropped again. In Device Manager at first I could not see the wifi adapter listed. I clicked to see hidden devices and found the adapter and the Bluetooth (which I had not noticed was missing).

I again uninstalled, restarted, and both the wifi and bluetooth have returned.

Anyone any ideas as to what is happening, why it's happening, and what I need to do, please?

I have attached a screenshot of the DM windows as it is now, showing the wifi adapter name, etc.
