    Windows 10 Wifi wisconnects and won't reconnect until restart


    I have an Asus X550C with a Qualcomm Atheros 9485 network adapter. I'm using version 1909 of Windows 10. The problem is that it disconnects at completely random intervals and will not reconnect until I restart the pc. It will not even connect to my Iphone hotspot. Here are some of the things I tried, with little to no effect:

    -Used the network adapter troubleshooter

    -Re-installed wifi driver

    -Set WLAN AutoConfig startup status to Automatic

    -Disabled the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" feature

    -Disabled/Enabled IPV6

    -Entered a few commands in the command prompt such as /netsh int ip reset

    -Changed network type to private

    -"Forgot" the network, then tried to connect again, entering password

    -In the end I did a Windows factory reset, the issue seemed to be resolved for a week, then the problem was back


    Did any of you managed to resolve this? It has been happening for a few years and the issue is getting beyond a joke now and since I play video games sometimes, it only makes things worse since it disconnects in lobbies and so on. Nothing seems to be solving the problem.

    Windows 10 Wifi wisconnects and won't reconnect until restart

    Anomalous WiFi Reconnection

    Wondering what (if anything) this was about: WiFi disconnected on wife's computer.

    1. Checked, WiFi itself working.
    2. Ran Network Trouble Shooter, which usually fixes such problems; failed.
    3. Ran Hardware Trouble Shooter, nothing found.
    4. Checked Wireless Card in Device Manager; indicated as working properly.
    5. Restarted computer; still no WiFi.
    6. Although Notification icon was black, clicked on it to see if anything there, found that the WiFi network was "Secured." Clicked on that, saw that it was set to connect automatically, clicked on that, failed. Tried once more, failed, so deselected automatic connection, clicked again, and WiFi was reconnect instantaneously.

    I think that that covers most, if not all of the steps I took to fix the problem. Any idea as to what caused this, and as to why non-automatic reconnect worked without even asking for the router's password?
