LOL, Vlad! All my music is on DVD. 100 or so? One of these days when I really retire I'll throw them all on a terabyte dive and sell them. I'm sure someone will buy.

BTW, I still have vinyl which I'll never depart from. Old stuff. You know. Stuff where we amplified distortion and scratches. *Biggrin

True story > I dated a woman whose X was a vinyl junkie. He lived in a mobile home park. He had so much vinyl that the home actually broke in two from the weight.

    Good one! *Thumbs

However > As Paul Harvey put it > In a moment the rest of the story.....

The poor guy ended up getting killed on a sidewalk waiting for a light to change on his bicycle. A young driver didn't notice until the last second that the light had changed red slamming on the brakes and ran over him after losing control of his car. We never know when our number is up.....

Well, in the USA alone there are still over 50+ million cable subscribers and about the same for satellite users. I don't think TV is dead, if nothing else it will just become an internet service. 3D hasn't taken off and I don't Holo will either, people don't want to wear head gear to watch for extended periods. Maybe in a hundred years they will have some sort of Star Wars type projection.

That reminds me of a friend of mine, few years (maybe 10) he was trying to convince me that he'll never need more than 10CDs, ever. Ended up with over 970 DVDs, movies and music and is in the process of buying second hand, cheap HDDs and is still ripping CDs/DVDs and backing them up on those HDDs.
Now he has a stack of HDDs of different sizes about same size as he's CD/DVD collection was.

  9. I don't really need a third SSD. If I want more storage room I'll just put in a bigger SSD for the data drive and reuse the one that's in there now somewhere else. That's what works for me. *Smile

  10. But don't despair. When it finally gets here it will be "too cheap to meter." Ha ha

    Have you checked out Bandcamp?

There is often free legal music available on that site, in multiple formats including FLAC.
I normally visit it via FrostClick.

    Hi folks

    Don't remove all your old HDD's / SSD's.

You can AGGREGATE these into a larger STORAGE SPACES (facility been available since Windows 8). Unlike RAID you can aggregate DIFFERENT CAPACITY HDD's into a storage space.

OK get new drives if you need them but don't throw away your older 250 - 500 GB drives just because you think they aren't large enough.

For "Static data" (email / office apps / multi-media etc.) you don't need to use SSD's or mega fast drives.

Good quality FLAC Classical music available for purchase from here

    Purchasing music to download

Of course one can try the other "Unofficial" sites -- there doesn't seem to be the same problems with people trying to stop downloading Classical music on Kat or "The Bay" -- but that's up to you.

With cheap storage available why would I want compressed music of whatever type -- not worth it unless you walk around "Zombified" with those HIDEOUS cheap ear buds where the unfortunate people around the wearer hears more noise than the person actually using the phones.

    Cheers

Much prefer using discs to install Windows. I just burn the iso and I'm good. USB is painfully slow for me. Not to mention, I'd rather just pop a disc in than load it on the usb drive.
