  6. Any lockout I've ever had happen was not because of forgetting a password it was because Microsoft exasperated the need to have a cell number associated with my account to send a text message to regardless of the password entered.
Oddly this has only happened with a new outlook.com email address
Microsoft security is going bonkers with this new security garbage.

On a happy note is gmail although is still wanting a cell number doesn't lock you out to access and possibly update surety info like a secondary email address to send reset info too,
I feel my future sees more Google than Microsoft services/ devices.....
if the os 10.. relies completely on this security looks like Google devices and Linux will be in mine *Wink
Linux mint mate 17.1 is pretty good in my book *Smile

I find it strange I have had the same password with my Credit Union (bank) for over 20 years, they ask a varied security question, which I made up 3 questions & answers of my choosing, when I set up the online account.

Never once, have I had a problem signing in or verification problems. Nor has our bank ever had a security problem that I am aware of. I take that back only once, they had to re-issue visa cards because the visa handler had been compromised.

But, here again, you will either need to have a camera or some sort of touch device or screen to make it work, I see this viable as a routine option may be 10 years from now, when non-touch devices are no longer made and everything comes with a camera.

Sticky notes with passwords written on them. Stick them to the monitor. Works for my mother in law.

A workmate of mine had a pad of sticky notes printed with "when you were out, the sh-t hit the fan", they always amused the boss.

Just being curious. If you set up Fido would you still be able to log in with a password as a backup just in case?
