Windows 10: Windows 10 Will Not Boot

I was dual booting windows 8 and windows 7. Both are MBR disks. Windows 8 was on one disk and windows 7 was on another. When I tried to install windows 10, it said it could not install to my windows 8 disk because it was not GPR or something. So, I ran diskpart, selected the disk, cleaned it, and then converted it. Windows 10 then installed....but it restarted and upon restarting, now I get an error about:

Your PC needs to be repaired. A required device isn't connected or cant be accessed.
Error CodeL:0x000000e
You need to use recovery tools blah blah blah

If you hit F8 you get
File: \Windows\system32\winload.exe

No options work from here so I tried using recovery tools which did not work. if I select to use a different OS, it starts to boot windows 7.


So..uhm...How do I fix this?

I tried using command prompt and using diskpart to find the volume my windows is on. Its on D, so I did bcdboot d:\windows

It successfully copied the files. But I still get the same error.

Please someone help. I never expect much of windows insalls, but this has got me stumped. Installed on a 10 year old laptop in less than one hour start to finish.

EDIT:

Some luck....My windows 7 was on a drive that was the MASTER. My windows 10 was on a drive that was listed as SLAVE. So...as a test, I swapped the cables on the two drives. Windows 10 is now the master. It has booted to windows 10.

I don't suppose there is a way to dual boot this drive with windows 7 on a slave disk is there?

Thanks Dave! I was able to boot another PC to the installation screen with this media, so it seems to be fine. I've posted a further update in a reply to Andre below, thank you for any help you can provide.

I've made some small progress. Turned out at some point in the boot from USB, the graphical output must change, so whilst I was getting a blank screen, the USB boot had worked. I realised this after connecting a VGA cable to my integrated graphics instead
of my graphics card and then setting integrated graphics as the first option in my BIOS as a troubleshooting step.

Anyhow, I attempted to run a repair from the installation media, but Startup Repair failed. Inspecting the logfile it left using the commandprompt, the final error message is "A recently serviced boot binary is corrupt." I'd really prefer to be able to recover
this installation rather than start again with a fresh install as I would lose some data. Would you be able to help with this at all? Many Thanks.
