    Hello,


    Recently I installed a SSD and was able to use both it and a hard drive simultaneously, with the SSD acting as the boot drive.

    Yesterday when I turned on my PC Windows failed to stat and the screen advised to restore Windows, which led tot he loss of my files etc. but also resulted in the hard drive becoming the C: drive, instead of the SSD. Furthermore Windows will not start without the hard drive, even though the SSD is still the boot drive on the motherboard.
    I tried to run the Samsung Data Mitigation software, believing Windows was loading from the hard drive now, but it did not detect the operating system on the hard drive. So it appears the operating system needs the hard drive in order to boot from the SSD. I also have restricted access, such as not being able to turn on Memory Integrity or reassign drives, despite being an administrator on the PC.

    Can you please advise on a solution?

    Hi,

    i have Dell laptop - inspiron 15 series 3000.

    i bought it with original Windows 10 install at it's SATA Hard Drive.

    now , the Windows 10 load very very slowly ~5 minutes and i thought to buy SSD hard drive.

    when i bought the Laptop windows was load ~2 minutes.

    i have few questions :

    1. is it possible to load WIN10 faster at the current SATA Hard Drive.

    2.if i choose to replace the SATA Hard Drive at new SSD Hard Drive,how can i perform the WIN10 installation ?

    Windowed Hard Drives

    On the contrary, showing off "slow tech" by adding a window to a hard drive is a "dumb" idea. Do you really want to be showing off a whole "7200-10000 RPM of power" or would you rather show off a plain SSD drive? (If you really desire to "show off")

    Adding any window to any drive is just stupid. I just suggested an easier option for you since manufactures don't put windows on the latest hard drives.

    Hard drives listed as SSD drives

    Upgraded to Win 10 Pro from Win 7 Pro.

    Have 2 Hard drives in Raid 1 set up.

    Win 10 lists these drives as SSD drives in System Properties.

    How do I change the listing of these drives to HD so I can optimize them?
