Exactly as the initial thread began, is Microsoft doing anything to resolve-repair-fix this ridiculous "BUG"? I have been working in 2 different companies, worked in several workstations, and the BUG still is present ALWAYS on BOTH WINDOWS 10 & WINDOWS 11. Attempt to rename a FILE - FOLDER and within 10-seconds of editing a NAME the BUG Cancels and Pre-Erases entire File-Folder Name, this BUG does not permit Users to Effectively manage files on Microsoft Windows. Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

Bugreport: Windows 10 folder/file rename bug

    Hi Vijay,

It is a major bug that should be flagged as very important.

Without my consent, and irreparably did windows rename the files.

This procedure isn't an expected or even a standard response for a GUI browser!

At the very least, an undo option needs to be possible, including for devices like cellphones that are hooked to the pc, via a cable!

I really feel people who are coding windows, don't know what they're doing!

I've seen and experienced nothing but bugs in windows 10, and then for an 'expert', to tell me it's not a bug, is even more unbelievable!

How is it possible you're saying it's not a bug?

Files don't need to be renamed to the folder name! Name one instance where such behavior makes sense?

Besides, the renaming procedure doesn't make sense either. Since when do we need an operation that will rename each file to the same name (with (1), (2), (3), ... behind it)?

Explorer isn't known for renaming mass files, and this bug being the only one that does it, shows it's definitely not preferred over bulk rename utilities.
