Windows 10: Windows 10 Windows Explorer Freezes, taskbar icons disappear

We've been having an issue with the taskbar on a number of our company computers over 30 PCs to be precise. When trying to minimize and reopen programs, the taskbar will freeze and icons will disappear. It takes a good minute or 2 for them to reappear and unfreeze although sometimes you can bring it back up using the Task Manager and restarting Windows Explorer. We've checked for malware, run the script to restore health, uninstalled programs 1 at a time to rule them out. Ensured the PCs were fully updated up to the latest windows 10 update without going to windows 11. We've uninstalled re

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Try Ctrl+Esc.

If Recycle Bin is the only icon you can see, open it, from the explorer window navigate to Control Panel and find Taskbar settings there.
