Windows 10: Windows 10 - Windows Folder File Size

Hi folks,DELL ComputerWindows 10 ProVersion 21H1 OS Build 19043.2006I am using windows 10 and my 500GB harddrive has 0 bytes free. Upon investigation, my C:\Windows folder is using 364 GB. Further investigation reveals that although the folder properties indicate takes up 364 GB if I select all files and check the properties, the total file size is only 20.2 GB this includes all Hidden Items. I can't explain the file size difference or find a way to clean it up. This is making my computer unusable and I can't seem to find a solution online. 64 bit has larger folder sizes than 32 bit.

You will have system restore, page file, and a 4GB hibernate file since you have 4GB of ram.

To stop the download, uninstall the KB3035583 update (under "Control Panel > Windows Update > Installed Updates").


To get rid of the C:\$Windows.~BT folder:

• Right-click on your C: drive.
• Select "Properties".
• Click on [ Disk Cleanup ]
• After the initial scan: If you have a [ Clean up system files ] button, click it and wait for the second scan to finish.
• Scroll down the list and look for "Temporary Windows installation files" (its size should be in the gigabytes range); check the box.
• Click on [ OK ] to start the clean-up.
