Windows 10: Windows 10 Wireless Printer Error

I have a Xerox WorkCentre 3325 Wireless Printer. It must be used wirelessly in order to communicate with Xerox to get toner sent automatically when needed.


I was using it with an older laptop running Windows 10, and there were no problems. But that laptop is starting to have issues, so I got a new laptop and used the Xerox install disc to set up the printer to communicate wirelessly with that new laptop (also running Windows 10). Installation went perfectly; the printer is recognized by Windows 10 and is set as the default printer. But all attempts to print wirelessly wind up with a printer error.


First message is: "Printer Xerox WorkCentre 3325 PS cannot be contacted over the network. Contact your network administrator." This is just a home computer and printer - there's no company network, just a wireless home network.


Second message: "The remote device or resource won't accept the connection. The device or resource (192.168.1.90) is not set up to accept port connections on port TCP 9100."


I think this second message is the key. How do I go about fixing this? I gather that's the IP address of the printer above. Printer works fine when directly connected with a USB cable, but as noted, it needs to be used wirelessly for the contract with Xerox.

• What is the make and model of the printer and the computer?

As you have mentioned that “I cannot turn on my wireless printer. it says my radio is off”
which means the wireless button might not have turned ‘ON’ on your printer.

So I suggest you to check for the wireless button on the printer and turn it ‘ON’ then follow the below steps to ‘ADD’ the wireless printer on your computer and connect it, check if it helps.

• In the Search box type as ‘Device and Printers’.
• Click on ‘Add a printer’ you will find the wireless printer is displayed on your computer.
• Click on the printer and click on ‘Next’.
• Follow the onscreen instruction and connect the computer and printer.

If still you are facing issue in connecting the wireless printer then I suggest you to refer to the printer manual and check if it helps.

Can't share printer—getting error message

Step 1: Go to store.
Step 2: Buy a less shitty printer.
Step 3: Pick up some beer while you are there.
Step 4: Enjoy both your new printer and your beer.

In all seriousness, I have had more issues with Lexmark printers and their shitty drivers then any other manufacturer, HP is a close second though.

However, if you don't want to get a new printer*Laugh :laugh:, and I can understand that, when my Lexmark was giving me the same troubles in Win7(and Vista) I had to make sure the Windows firewall was ON and the firewall service was enabled and running. After I shared it I could re-disable the firewall and firewall services.

 

Unable to access Wireless printer on Windows 10

I understand the inconvenience your facing with accessing printer, do let us know the following to assist you better:

• Have you tried to connected the printer via wired connection and check?
• Did you connect this printer to different computer and check?
• Were you able to see any error message with this issue?

I suggest you to try the below and check if it helps.

Step 1: Steps to remove printer drivers from Device manager:

• Press Windows + R keys from the keyboard to open
  Run command.
• Type devmgmt.msc in Run window to open
  Device Manager window.
• Under Print queues, right click on the printer and
  uninstall.

Try to install the right drivers for the Printer from the Manufacturer’s website.

Step 2: I suggest you to check the status of
Print Spooler service and check.

Description: Print Spooler service, spools print service and handles interactions with the printer.

If you turn off this service you won’t be able to print or see your printer.

Steps:

• Press Windows + R to open Run command, type
  Services.msc and press Enter.
• Search for Printer Spooler service, right click on it and
  Start the service.
• Also, set the Startup type to Automatic.
• Now check if you are able to install the driver.
