Windows 10: Windows 10 won’t boot after installing secondary hard drive

Hi,After installing a new M2 drive into my PC, installing Windows etc, it all worked great. I then wanted to install my old M2 also, for the extra space. As I did so, the PC booted from the old drive, and the old became C:/ and new D:/. I have since been unable to boot from my new drive, even if I remove the old one again. It just blinks with a white dash once and returns to BIOS. I have tried to repair it with my Windows installation USB drive with no luck.How can I sort this?

Windows 10 1909 Causes Secondary Hard Drive to not be Recognized

Installing the Windows 10 1909 Update causes my secondary hard drive to not be recognized.

Steps to confirm issue:

• Secondary drive not visible in Windows Explorer
• Secondary drive not visible in device manager
• Secondary drive not visible in disk manager

Steps to replicate issue:

• Installing 1909 update

Steps to resolve issue:

• Uninstall 1909 update

Since updates can only be delayed for so long, an actual fix would be appreciated.

 

[Confusion] Hard drive won't boot. Caused by video card?

Did you install Windows with all your other hard drives plugged in? If you did, removing them when you boot Windows will fail, because Windows dumps boot flags on every drive when its first installed. That's why people always recommend disconnecting every single hard drive besides your C:\ drive when doing a fresh install.

As for your initial problem, the GPU being reinstalled and suddenly Windows won't boot - tried safe mode? (Spam F9 when your computer is loading)

 

Internal secondary hard drive not recognised

After fitting SSD (C: drive) to my Win10 machine I connected the old hard drive as a secondary storage drive.

Win10 does not "see" it!
But Belarc Adviser "sees" the hard drive!

How to force Win 10 to recognise the secondary drive? Simple steps please for a non-techie.
