Windows 10: Windows 10 won't boot after update

Hey,

I've been searching around the web for some hours now, but I haven't found anyone with a problem similar to mine.

I have a Samsung ATIV Smart PC Pro 700T. It came with Windows 8. Around a year ago I updated it to Windows 10 and it was working flawlessly.

However, a month or so ago, a Windows 10 update rolled out. As usual, I performed the update. To my surprise, when Windows asked to reboot, it got stuck at Samsung logo! I tried booting from the original recovery disk but I got a message that it was unable to fix the problem.

I got so disappointed with Microsoft that I decided to switch to Ubuntu. Unfortunately, it does not have all the drivers for my tablet PC, so today I decided to reinstall Windows 10.

So I formatted my PC and installed a fresh copy of Windows 8. I used MediaCreationTool to perform the update selecting "Upgrade this PC now" and "Erase everything". However, when it rebooted, it had the same problem as before: it got stuck in Samsung logo.

Using the boot repair of my original Windows 8 disk only shows the message that it was unable to fix the problem.

Can somebody please help me out fixing this issue? I'm really desperate because Windows 8 is BS!

Did you use the Samsung Update utility to upgrade?

Samsung ATIV Smart PC Pro 700T appears to be 64bit.

Did you keep in mind that one cannot upgrade an installation of Windows from 32-bit to 64-bit even if the hardware supports it. Whatever bit-version of Windows you are running is the version of the download tool you need to get if you wish to do an in-place upgrade.

Not so sure that I would download and install updates during the installation. Seems like Samsung has had lots of problems with Network Adapters when upgrading to W10. If you have the computer connected to a router with a wire, also try disconnecting the wire.

 

Well, in this last time I tried, I did not update Samsung Software. I also noticed that I didn't had the required free space. I'll try updating to Windows 10 again and I'll tell you how it goes.

I only had my dock connected, and it is not USB, so probably this wasn't the problem.
