Windows 10: Windows 10 won't boot stuck on "Undoing changes to your computer" screen. Wont see USB with...

Ok. I have had this problem for a very long time and unable to fix it after reading lots of forum answers. If someone can help me that would be a lifesaving.


I am on a Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming


I have 2 operating systems on my computer which I dual boot, Windows 10 and Linux mint. However, when windows 10 was updating the computer was shut down during the update installation process. From then on when I boot my windows it is constantly stuck on "Undoing changes to your computer". I can access my Linux side of the operating system and is what I am writing on right now.


I am looking for a way to repair my Windows system to before it was updated and if this is not possible just reinstalling new windows within that partition.


I have 125GB SSD where my windows is installed. 1TB hard drive 125GB of which is partitioned for my Linux OS and the rest was hard drive space for my windows OS.


What I have tried so far unsuccessfully is to somehow enter Windows Safe Mode or Recovery mode. I try to do this by mashing F12 on boot and it enters me on the bootloader screen, there I have "Windows Boot Manager" and the "125GB UEFI partition" if I click both of them it will send me back to the Windows OS which is stuck on the "Undoing changes to your computer" screen. While its trying to load my Windows OS I tried mashing F12 or other keys to enter the Windows boot option maybe to enter recovery mode that way but with no success. I have also flashed a Windows 10 image on a USB to try and reinstall windows. However when I try to boot from USB when I go to the initial bootloader screen after F12 the USB is not seen!


When I turn off secure boot off and I am on Legacy mode the "USB Mass Storage" comes up but when I load from there it just goes to a black screen.

I can also see and access all my files and hard drives section on my Windows OS through my Linux OS. Maybe I can fix it from there?


From the BIOS I have been maybe trying to find an .efi boot sequence where I can enter recovery mode for Windows, if that's at all possible?


Desperately looking for answers if someone can help. Ideally trying to recover old Windows and if not reinstall it. Potentially while not touching my Linux OS because the environment is set up to work on my thesis on Astrophysics and reinstalling all dependencies would be hell.

Windows 10 USB boot

Hi there, am not a windows 10 expert. I have a pc in the bedroom on windows 10, I messed up the bootloader trying to fix the xp on that system.

System wont boot, trying to repair via win 10 usb installer.

Downloaded the media creation tool to install windows 10 installer on usb stick. Not compatible with a host of usb sticks I have. Tried the usb sticks that others use, but I think they use rufus; as the media creation tool by win 10 does not detect the usb stick.

So quick question, the win10 machine i am trying to repair the bootloader is a win7 upgraded to win10.
If i were to use the usb win10 installer to "repair installation" does the version of the iso downloaded via the media creation tool matter?

There is three options:
Windows 10
Windows 10 Home
Windows 10 N

Also is there a step by step instead of using rufus as I want to try an alternative method of creating a usb win 10 installer. Preferably with more compatibility.

System is a asus sabertooth 990 (r2?) with AMD phenom X 6.

Also is there any other software I can load onto the usb that can repair the bootloader easily?

My pc won´t boot Windows 10 from USB/DVD

So I wanted to change from my Windows 10 x32 bits to 64x. I downloaded the Mediacreationtool and used it in both a USB and a DVD. Tried used the usb, the disk and both at the same time but they won´t boot.

I have a P7H55-M motherboard, the BIOS is updated and configured to boot first DVD, second usb and third SATA.

So if someone could help me it´d be great.

 

Computer stuck at MB screen boot

My computer is refusing to boot. Most of the time it would stuck at the MB screen where you would press a button to enter bios. Other time it would get pass that point and go to the windows logo loading then restart itself.

Note: i can enter bios most of the time. my keyboard would register command at MB screen but wouldnt register when i try to choose between dual boot win 7 or ubuntu. sometimes it would be able to go into the windows recovery (cant recover) and restart the loop

I'm thinking it's a power supply or RAM problem...?

additional info: before this happen my computer wont boot at all. i have to remove the speaker and 1 fan for it to boot. if i leave those on, there would be a 1 second long beep and screen stay dark. thank you for any help
