    Windows 10 won't install

    Hi,
    I have Windows 7 Professional 32bit installed

Windows notify me that Windows 10 can't be installed because:

"The display manufacturer hasn't made your display compatible with Windows 10."

I have 'GeForce Experience Updater' installed which tells me that NVIDIA GeForce 7000M/nForce 610M (installed) is up to date. Does anyone know of another driver I can install that will do the job and be compatible with Win'10.

My laptop is, Asus X50N,/ Motherboard is ASUSTek F5N1.0,/ CPU AMD Turion TL-52,/ SSD 120GB,/ 4GB memory.

I would be eternally grateful for help in getting Windows 10 to install.

    Thank you in advance.

    :)

  3. Windows 10 install loop

For the past hour I have been looking around the internet on my phone trying to get past the "get going fast" section. All I have been able to find is answers like "unplug other devices and internet". At this point all I have is my monitor, mouse, and
keyboard and it still won't work. My computer is only a year old so that isn't the problem either. Someone, please just help me finish installing it or tell me how to return it to its previous state.

It may be too old hardware to update. First thing I would do is to update all my drivers on the laptop then see how it goes. I believe there is an Asus driver updater tool that can be used. As always, back up your user data first.

Thank you for responding. I have already done all that you suggested before I posted my question, but no luck. I was hoping that some kind person such as you would 'pull a rabbit out of the hat' so to speak and get me going. I will keep on logging in, in the hope that someone can help me. Thank you again.

Good luck and if you're successful then others here may benefit from knowing how you achieved it.

I had the same problem. I resolved it by downloading the media creation tool and using that to upgrade to win 10. You can find the tool and directions here. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/media-creation-tool-install.
When you are done, windows will use the generic drivers for video. Simply download and install the windows 7 drivers and you should be all set. The video card you have will probably never receive support for windows 10, but the older drivers will give you the resolution you want. Understand that in all probability, there may be some things that your video card will not allow you to do under win 10. I haven't had any problems yet, but it could happen. The other option is (if you have a desktop computer) to purchase an addon video card that is compatible with windows 10. Then run the update. Hope this helps.

    Windows 10 won't install

I have a very nice HP Compaq dv5750 SFF computer with Win7 but it can't install Win10 because of the onboard/built-in video adapter which is an ATI Radeon Xpress 1150 with both DVI and VGA sockets, will have to get a new low-profile video card for it.

To supply a little more detail, the drivers are here:

    Drivers | GeForce

The latest are 179.48, from February of 2009.

You may have to extract the files from the archive and install the drivers manually. (In Device Manager under Display Adapter, use the update drivers button, and navigate to where you have the drivers extracted.)

Good luck. A notebook from 2007 is a bit old for Win 10, but you may succeed after a little struggle with drivers. I have a somewhat similar Compaq machine from 2008, and it works under 10. (Had to manually force some old chipset drivers.)

I´m writing this from my Compaq Presario F756LA (GeForce 7000M Video, NForce 610M and 560 chipset) laptop computer I recently got as a non-working present: the chipset got unsoldered due to the famous overheat problem common to all Series 700 and 500 Presario Laptop computers. The hard disk was missing also, so I got the chipset resoldered in the reballing lab, a used 2.5 HDD from another defunct notebook and installed Windows 7 Starter (deleting ei.cfg did the trick of getting the Starter installer) using the serial from another dead netbook I couldn´t revive. Installed the 2009 Nvidia Geforce 7000M drivers and the nForce 610M chipset drivers. Updated the BIOS to F0A. Updated Win7 until everything was up to date and then I started the Windows 10 update. when finished I installed the GeForce driver pack V 307.68 as suggested in NVIDIA problema de compatibilidad Windows 10 (Solución) - Iván Ridao Freitas Voila ! Working system.
It´s not incredibly fast but with 1.5 Gb RAM and unable to go beyond 2 Gb there´s no use wasting my time installing Win10 64 Bits, so here it goes. Pretty good for a free paperweight...

    Cheers !
