Windows 10: Windows 10 won't read blank CD's

Hello all, For some reason, my CD/DVD burner in my Dell Inspiron stopped recognizing blank CD's. The drive actually works fine since iTunes, Windows Media Player & Wondershare Uniconverter all recognize & burn without any problems. The issue is that I can't burn a data cd PDF's, Word, Excel etc since Windows won't/can't read the blank disks. I have tried to update the driver but the "most current driver is already installed". Rollback Driver is greyed out so that is not an option. I also deleted the drive in device manager and restarted the computer but still have the same issu

My CD ROM can´t read any CDs or DVDs

I wanted to use my CD ROM after a long time, and then after many attempts with other CDs/DVDs, all I can say is that my CD ROM won´t read anything.

I tried solutions online, like using regedit and search for UpperFilters and LowerFilters, but I don´t have them, but it still won´t read anything. I have Windows 7 Home Premium, can anyone help me?

 

windows 10 burning music from the hard drive to a cd

I have windows 10. I can not burn a cd from the music stored on my hard drive. I got to the windows media player, click the burn to a cd drag the song list and insert a blank cd and it won,t start the burn. I have checked everything in my desk top. Can
one help me.

 

Windows 10 recently stopped recognizing blank CDs

Hello Greg. Well, I've tried all the suggestions that you mentioned. Still no luck being able to burn a CD with any program. Windows 10 refuses to accept a blank CD. I have also read that Microsoft considers CDs and even DVDs as legacy. Does this mean
that there is no fix without a lot of users complaining about it?
