Windows 10: Windows 10 won't update

I tried switching to the Windows Insider Program a few days ago, but my computer isn't upgrading properly. I have been able to upgrade to Windows 10 Enterprise Version 1909 OS build 18363.778.

The problem now is that when I go to the Windows Update screen, I see a red exclamation mark. When I click "Check for updates," it says, "Your device is missing important security and quality fixes." It doesn't find anything to install, and nothing happens after it searches.










I have tried going to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download and deleting the files, but it didn't work.


I want to install WSL version 2 https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wsl/wsl2-install, so I need to get to OS build 18917 or later. I was able to do this on another Windows machine, but this one is stuck.

Windows updates won't install!

I had the same problem when i repaired my O/S, i forgot the steps on how to fixed it, but it is in the microsoft support forum.

You have to reinstall the windows updater, then restart the updating service.

Windows 10 won´t start any program as Administrator

Hello. I´m having this issue since installed one of the latest Windows 10 system updates.

When I try to open any program that requires Administrator confirmation (that screen with the Yes/No question), this dialog won´t appear anymore. The screen background stays darkened and nothing happens.

1. Using Windows 10 Home (x64)
2. My microsoft user account is properly checked
3. I´m the administrator of the PC
4. Already tried do create another administrator user account - same problem, no success
5. Cannot start any program/service that requires administrator authorization (not even regedit)

Please help!
