Windows 10: Windows 10 working very slow on laptop

I am using windows 10 on my new laptop since October'18. During this experience I am very much unsatisfied with the poor performance of the Windows. I am regularly downloading all the windows updates. But the performance of the Windows is very poor. Its taking too much time to open the new application, switching application, etc. The response time and waiting time is too high.


I have tried all the suggestion given in blogs under windows community to improve the performance. Recently I have purchased Desktop with Windows 10 only where in comparison with laptop performance, its performance is almost 300 times better than laptop. On laptop there are no heavy or multiple softweres.


Kindly suggest how I could improve my laptop performance.

• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

windows 10 slow boot

I was having a slow boot issue on my Windows 7 install a little while back. It would take about 30 - 40 extra seconds to boot up for whatever reason.

I would try following these steps, while this didn't solve my issue, it did increase Read/Write to where it should be.

In the end, I had to reinstall my Windows 7 entirely to fix the booting issue. It was taking around 35 seconds to boot, and after the fresh install it takes about 7 seconds to boot.
