I had a couple of games from Game Pass that I installed but ultimately never got around to playing so I uninstalled them through the Windows 10 Xbox App.

Well Windows doesn't actually remove the files from your computer and I still have over 200 GB of games that I no longer have access to or any way to remove them from my SSD just taking up space.

No amount of taking ownership of the folders has allowed me to delete the WindowsApps folder where it's keeping all the files, running as admin nothing works.

Absolutely fucking ridiculous that they hide basic installs behind so many walls and hold your hard drive space hostage.

Is there any way to reclaim the space on my SSD without doing a complete reinstall of Windows?

  3. Unable to open installed games from windows 8.1 after the upgrade to windows 10

Did you download this game from Windows Store?

    Did you install to Xbox?

    Follow these steps:

    • Press the Windows button on your device or keyboard, or select the Windows icon in the lower-left corner of the main screen.
    • Select All apps, and then find your game in the list.
    • Press and hold the game tile and then select Uninstall. Alternatively, you can right-click the game tile and then select
      Uninstall.
    • Follow the steps to uninstall the game.

Uninstalling Xbox app on Windows 10

    Hi Helen,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

Since Xbox is an inbuilt application in Windows 10, we need to use the PowerShell command to uninstall the Xbox application. Please follow the steps mentioned below to uninstall the application.

    1. Press and hold the Windows key + X.
    2. Select Windows PowerShell (Admin).
    3. Type the command and hit Enter on the keyboard:
      Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.XboxApp | Remove-AppxPackage

    4. Restart the PC.

    Hope it helps.
