Windows 10: Windows 10

I have 4.5 years old laptop which is running extremely slow and I had a hard time booting up. I just had the OS upgraded to Win 10 by a technician. I was told by this technician that probably the problem is my hard drive which needs to replaced at a cost $200. I searched and got from Internet how to replace the hard drive in my laptop which is extremely simple, just pop out the old hard drive and put in the new one.

The problem I have is how to download Win 10 from the old hard drive to external drive and then upload the Win 10 onto the new hard drive. I do not have the Win 10 key which is with the technician.

Do I need the Win 10 key to do the transfer?

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
