Installation problem always happen in first stage "Collecting information"Windows installer show message that no media disk foundBut by using shift+f10 -> giskpart -> list disk I can see all ssd drive. I also try to format ssd to ntfs and crete empty folder. Next in installer browse menu I also can see this disk and folder... So disk detected. But why it ignored by windows installer???FYI Same problem happen in win10 installation ...So

Windows Install - Can’t find SSD driver

I’m trying to install Windows on an Asus Zenbook Q409. When I get to the step to select the storage device and partitions, there are no storage devices listed, but it gives the option to browse for drivers. I confirmed that the SSD is functioning as it is listed in both the UEFI and works fine in an Ubuntu live boot. The SSD is a WD SN 735. When I search for this SSD the closest result I get is a SN730. Where can I find the driver for the WD SN735?

I’ve tried this with both Windows 10 and 11 bootable USBs.

You could 'clean' it with diskpart, I am not 100% sure what the windows installer did to it, 'cleaning' it with diskpart may make your OS not load even if it is on the HDD depending on where it put the MBR, so proceed at your own risk.

To clean:
From windows command line...

diskpart <enter>
list disk <enter>
note the disk # of the SSD
select disk # (Number of ssd)
clean <enter>

NOTE: once the SSD is 'cleaned' it cant be undone and everything will be wiped.

 

Install Windows 10 on new SSD disk

What is the procedure to install Windows 10 on new SSD disk? Should I first install it on running old disk with Windows 7 and then install it again on the new SSD installed on the same PC?
