Windows 10: Windows 11 & 10 wont allow for SD to be read, both systems freeze causing system restart

I have a desktop with windows 11 and a laptop with windows 10. Since July 2023 I have been unable to get my computer to read any SD card through the USB or USB C ports. I use to have no issues, but now neither device will allow. I have tried updating the drivers, I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers, I have looked for the assigned letter path, and a few other methods, yet nothing has been able to fix this issue. I have tried different SD cards, SD card readers, every USB and USB C port on my devices and still nothing. It will read USB thumb drives, external hard drives, but will not do SD

Flash causing massive system instability and freezes

I get similar problems when I view youtube videos on FF. My system freezes and the only solution is to restart. I usually need to restart up to three times just get away with it. I do not know the cause yet but it is very frustrating*Bang Head :banghead:

I have a problem with my lap top freezing when I run Norton Internet security on a full system scan. I am using win 11 Home, 500GB SSD, i7 and 16gb ram. The supplier of my lap top does not seem to be able to help me and has no suggestions as to what has caused the freeze.

Which of System Internals programs would you suggest I use to find what is causing my system to freeze and what should I look for.

Any help you can give would be much appreciated.

We appreciate your effort in resolving the issue.

As you have tried most of the above troubleshooting steps like Clean boot, SFC scan, installing pending updates, DISM and still the issue persists, try the below and check.

Do let us know the following to assist you better:

• 
  Are you able to access desktop?
  
• 
  Is there any error code/ error message when the system freezes?
  
• 
  Have you installed any third party anti-virus software on your computer?
  

I suggest you to Try to log-in with Safe mode, restart the computer in safe mode and check if the issue persists.
