Windows 10: Windows 11 2022-09 Cumulative Update fails on install error 0x800f0922

Hello all -While trying to update my Windows 11 Pro laptop with "2022-09 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-Based Systems KB5017389", the install gets to 98% encounters a problem, and rolls back. The after-install error is attached 0x800f0922. I have tried resetting windows updates as well as clearing windows updates with no success.

2022-09 Cumulative update for Windows 11 KB5017859 fails to install with error 0x80248007

Around 24 hours after I first experienced this problem, Windows Update decided by itself to remove the Cumulative update KB5017859 and install another update, the 2022-09 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 22H2 for x64 (KB5017026).

This update installed fine, but I can't find the error 0x80248007 about the failed installation of the 2022-09 Cumulative update for Windows 11 KB5017859.

Now my system seems to be up-to-date with no pending or failed updates.

Nevertheless, I run the troubleshooter for Windows Update. This was the report:





I guess I don't have a problem anymore, since in the Windows Update -> Update History, there isn't any update flagged as "failed".

January 2022 Windows Updates Install Failure

.NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows 11 Update (KB5008880) failed with install error 0x800f0922.

2022-01 Cumulative Update for x64 Windows 11 (KB5009566) failed with install error 0x30071ab1.

I tried running the update troubleshooter and the DISM and it was not able to fix the issue.
