Windows 10: Windows 11 22H2 audio issues

Hi,I find it so frustrating that Windows 11 is having so many technical issues. I had been running 22H1 perfectly and then when 22H2 installed the audio became really crackly and distorted. Thought it was the audio drivers so I re-installed them, no fix. Reset laptop, no fix. Went back to Windows 10 and the problem isn't there anymore. I love Windows 11 but updates for it seem to keep breaking things.

Windows 11 22H2 Incompatibility

My Lenovo laptop evidently has the issue where the Windows 11 version 22H2 will not install on my laptop due to an incompatibility with the current version of the Intel Smart Sound Technology drivers. I understand this issue cuts across a number of computer brands and models. Any suggestions on how can I resolve this issue, or will MS issue updated drivers any time soon?

Current SST Audio Controller driver version – 10.23.0.4880

Current SST OED driver – 10.23.0.4880

Laptop – Lenovo ThinkPad T490

Windows 11 Pro version 21H2

 

Audio stopped working after upgrading win11 to 22H2

I updated my Realtek audio driver manually with the driver listed here:

Microsoft Update Catalog

Windows 11 Client, version 22H2 and later, Servicing Drivers, Windows 11 Client, version 22H2 and later, Upgrade & Servicing Drivers, Windows 11 Client S, version 22H2 and later, Servicing Drivers, Windows 11 Client S, version 22H2 and later, Upgrade & Servicing Drivers

Drivers (Sound)

6.0.9394.1

It downloads as a .cab file, but you can extract the files inside and then go through the Update Driver via Device Manager to use this driver.

And my sound works again.
