Windows 10: Windows 11 22H2 Battery Life

Over the course of the last few days, I've seen that quite a few people are reporting a battery drain following the new 22H2 update. Will the next cumulative update solve this issue?And if yes, does anyone know when the next update is scheduled?I use my laptop extensively for school and it is a bit of an issue when I have to charge it again and again, not to mention slightly worrying as well.

Windows 11 22H2 causing MAJOR problems (going to sleep randomly, killing battery life)

I just upgraded to Windows 11 22H2 and my computer has been acting up. For one, the battery life got close to halved (I was getting around 7-8 hours and now I'm getting 4-5 hours) and it also randomly goes to sleep (like once every 5-15 minutes) and signs me out on battery. I've already triple-checked Settings & control panel (power plan) and made sure that it doesn't go to sleep, yet it still happens. I've already updated all my drivers as well (most notably the NVIDIA drivers) and Windows Update says my system is up to date.

And just now as I was typing my computer went straight to sleep and then BSOD'd on startup. It said it was a 'WHEA UNCORRECTABLE ERROR' which supposedly means it's a hardware-related issue? But I highly doubt it as this only started happening the moment I upgraded to 22H2.

The only other solution I can think of is rolling back 22H2, but would that also delete my files (like the files & programs I created/downloaded under 22H2)?

 

The battery life

Battery life varies from phone model to phone model, even when they're from the same OEM. For instance, the HTC Titan II has a different battery life than a HTC HD7. However, your particular battery life can be varied depending on several factors:

• Strength of your phone carrier signal. If you're in areas of low or terrible coverage, then your phone will consume more energy trying to maintain a connection with a cell tower.
• High usage of GPS can also drain the battery quickly because the GPS sensor consumes a lot of energy. By the way, if you are using GPS a lot, you can actually improve battery life by leaving WiFi on, as Windows Phone can quickly pull geolocation info from
  WiFi routers, even if you're not connected to them.
  

With that in mind, here's some suggestions to try to extend the life of your battery.

Reduce the load on your battery:

• 
  Decrease screen brightness.
  
• 
  Set Timeout duration on Backlight.
  
• 
  Set Auto-Off Timeout duration for 1 minute or less (device turns off).
  
• Throttle down your CPU speed.
• 
  Remove external devices (SD Cards, etc)
  

Turn off appropriate radios on your device:

• 
  Turn off Bluetooth transceiver when not in use.
  
• 
  Turn off WiFi transceiver when not in use (except when using GPS).
  
• 
  Turn off GPS receiver when not in use.
  
• 
  Turn off Cell transceiver when not in use.
  

Change the way you do things with your device:

• Minimize media playback use.
• Minimize use of e-mail and browsing.
• 
  Once in a while (every few weeks), drain battery until dead, then recharge 100%
  
• Keep a spare charger in your car and/or office.
  

Again, these are the ways you can consume battery life and yes, some are extreme but if you're serious about conserving your phone's battery, these are some great suggestions.

Windows 11 22H2 Draining Battery So Much??

hai guys,

just wondering why my battery life is draining so fast after updating to the latest windows 11 22H2. I used to use my laptop for about 9 hours for office work with secondary GPU turn off and about 5 hours with secondary GPU on. Now, it just can stay for abour 4 hours when secondary GPU off and around 2 hours when secondary GPU on. been using this Windows 11 22H2 for several days now. is it my laptop compatiblity or the windows 11 bugs?

even I just using words and spotify on my work, it just stay for abour 4 hours from 100% to 30% battery. And when I sleep the laptop, it draining like Half the battery capacity. Can someone explain this, please??
