Windows 10: Windows 11 22h2 fails with 0x80004005 code. Please help.

First know that I am pretty tech savvy having done PC support since well let's just say anyone knew what DOS was. ; Yes I am retired and could really use some help. Things have changed a bit. I am only slightly rusty. As stated in the title my upgrade to Windows 11 22h2 is failing with a pretty much generic error code. I really don't think anyone seriously knows what any of these 0x___________ codes mean because the troubleshooting is nearly always the same. So, what have I tried. 1. Yes, far more than enough space on the M.2 NVME 1Tb C drive. 2. The only antivirus software is MS De

installation of Windows 20H2 has failed 0x80004005

The installation of Windows 20H2 has failed (current version 1909). After downloading from Windows Update site and ran it, it produced an error code 0x80004005 and suggested to try again. But that also failed.
The SetupDiagResults.log file shows the following error message
Error: SetupDiag reports abrupt down-level failure.
Last Operation: Finalize
Error: 0x80004005 - 0x60016
LogEntry: 2021-03-14 08:52:54, Error SP Operation failed: Update Boot Code. Error: 0x80004005[gle=0x000000b7]
What does it mean and how can I succeed in installing the 20H2 version?
