    How to minimize the bottom taskbar wide area?

    Right click on the Taskbar > unlock it

    Place your mouse cursor on the top edge of the taskbar until it tuns into a two headed arrow > hold and drag down to required size > release.

    Lock Taskbar again.

    I am Dave, I will help you with this.

    In Windows 11 Microsoft completely re-programmed the Taskbar, and the System tray is a separate entity to the main bar.

    The old registry tweaks do not work correctly in Windows 11, because the system tray area will not resize correctly, there is no setting or known registry hack for this in Windows 11.

    In version 22h2 that will be released in September/October, there is a lot of new functionality being added to the Taskbar, die to user pressure, and perhaps this may be an option then.
