    Windows 11 22H2 NVMe speeds are slower


    There’s at least a 10% slowdown in the current 22H2 versions… release, beta and dev channel with NVMe drives compared to Windows 11 21H2 22000.586. The slowdown occurred in mid August when I was using the beta channel… I went to the dev channel and the performance returned. By the end of August, both channels were much slower than 21H2 build 22000.586. I can use an older micron or Samsung driver and the performance is much better… almost as good as build 21H2 22000.586. Stornvme 22000.586 driver is the fastest of all! I suspect the current 22H2 stornvme driver has some sort of problem.

    Windows 11 22H2 NVMe speeds are slower

    Windows 11 only has 45% of random write speed in Nvme SSD

    Is it the NVMe device driver or is it something else in Windows 11 (I think it is something else)? For me, whether I use Microsoft's NVMe driver or Samsung's, it is essentially the same result (with very low random write speeds in crystaldiskmark). So the NVMe driver doesn't seem to be the cause.

    And it has nothing to do with AMD vs Intel either. I have an 11th Generation Intel CPU (Intel Core i5 11400 -- Rocket Lake).
