Windows 10: Windows 11 22H2 Start Bar frozen and search bar

Since updating to the Windows 11 22h2 Nov release 22621.819 the startbar and search bar stopped working as soon as we imaged a device. December update fixed this issue for a little bit but the Jan, Feb and most recently March update 22621.1413 as seen this reoccur. We have the following error in the event logs.Faulting application name: StartMenuExperienceHost.exe, version: 10.0.22621.1344, time stamp: 0x2d02eef7Faulting module name: StartTileData.dll, version: 10.0.22621.1105, time stamp: 0x1f4bb93bException&

Search Bar/Cortana

Thank you for posting your concern here in Microsoft Community and welcome to the Windows 10 family.

From the description, I understand that you are still receiving the pop up notifications, despite having disabled the search functionality in windows 10.

Steps to disable the Search Bar

• Right click on the task bar.
• Select the "Search" option.
• Select "Disable."

However, if the above steps don't work out, perform the below suggested steps and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

Open a CMD window started as Administrator.

Repair corruption: Dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth.

Run this command next: Sfc /scannow

Now run these two commands:

PowerShell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers |Where-Object {$_.InstallLocation -like "*SystemApps*"} | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

No Search Bar in Start Menu

Hello,

My start menu has no search bar. I looked this up on the forum, and one answer was to go into Control Panel -> Programs & Features -> Turn Windows features on or off -> check mark the box for 'Windows Search' -> Reboot.

Problem 1: 'Windows Search' is not on my list of Windows items that can be turned on or off.

Where is the search bar?

Problem 2: I need the search bar to find the Snipping Tool!

Removing a search Bar

• What is the make and model of the computer?
• Did it appear after performing any particular function?

You may try to uninstall the search bar and check if it helps. To uninstall the
search bar follow these steps:

• 
  Right-click on
  Start Button and click on Programs and Features.
  
• 
  Right-click on the
  search bar and click on Uninstall.
