Windows 11 24H2 upgrade failed - Now showing Windows Boot Manager every boot

Hi all.The other night, before shutting down to go to bed, Windows 11 said it was going to install 24H2. I clicked update and shut down and went to bed.Yesterday, after logging on and not watching the boot, I noticed I was still on 23H2. The PC is working fine.Today, I watched the boot and The Windows Boot Manager showed up with 2 different options for Windows 11. The first option boots into 23H2 fine. The second option, if chosen starts to boot and then restarts the PC and you're back at the Windows Boot Manager. When I look at the root of my system drive from 23H3, there is now a directory

New Secondary Drive Causes Boot Failure Windows 10

For the second time now, Windows 10 failed to boot after initializing and formatting a spare drive (using Windows Disk Management). After the boot fail, UEFI boot settings were still set to boot from Windows Boot Manager, but it still wouldn't boot, just goes into diagnostic mode, fails to repair boot problem, and goes to the repair menu. In advanced options I can then load a recent image (made with Windows 7 Backup and Recovery in control panel), and everything goes back to normal. My question is what causes this problem, and how do I repair it without re-imaging Windows? I don't recall ever having this problem in other Windows versions, only in Windows 10. Anyone else notice this problem?

    Boot Manager Is Missing

You need to use the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows Recovery Environment. For that you need to boot into Recovery Environment and perform a "Startup Repair". If that fails then boot into WinRE again, and go to the "Command Prompt" and execute this command:

    Bootrec.exe /RebuildBcd

Restore boot manager when it is missing or compressed
Use Bootrec.exe in the Windows RE to troubleshoot startup issues - Microsoft Support

Windows Boot Manager - Windows failed to start

    Hi yorkyukI'm

    Wilfredo S an Independent Advisor

The following suggestions are described by another moderator regarding your problem where it was solved by following the steps below

The error message Windows boot manager boot failed appears if the Master Boot Record is corrupted. The most common reasons why a Master Boot Record will be corrupted are malware infections and improper shutting down of your computer. For us to assist you, we
suggest that you repair the Master Boot Record of your Windows 10 computer. Here's a simple guide that you can follow to do it:

Press F8 while booting the system to go into the Windows Recovery Menu.

    Click on Troubleshoot.

Click on Advanced options to get into Automatic Repair menu.

We need to use the Bootrec.exe tool. Click on command prompt and type in the following commands, one after the other:

    bootrec /RebuildBcd

    bootrec /fixMbr

    bootrec /fixboot

bootsect /nt60 SYS or bootsect /nt60 ALL

Exit and now go ahead and reboot your system.

We highly recommend that you backup your Master Boot Record or create a System Recovery Disk so that in case something like this happens you don’t have to run the Windows Recovery Disk. To create a system recovery drive, just follow the steps listed below:

    Press the Start button.

    Type RecoveryDrive.exe.

    Click Next

Once you insert the USB drive, it will start creating the Recovery on your USB drive.
